Maddie Campion and Dannie Grufferty answers 10 questions about their 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show...

Give us a quick overview of your comedy career so far. Are you happy with where you're at?

Maddie: When I was 9 I did a sketch about pensioners protesting the price hike of tinned beans at my local theatre. It went down very well and I'm not sure I've ever managed to top that debut. Since then I've been involved with improv but did my first stand up gig in 2014.

Dannie: I used to be involved with student politics but I upset my comrades by trying to tell jokes at conferences. I started stand-up in 2014.

Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself (but mix them up, keep us guessing!).

Maddie:
1. I once had a job guarding the corpses at Bodyworlds.
2. I once modelled a range of lego keyrings.
3. I was once turned down for the role of a ghost with a sheet over my head.

Dannie:
1. I was born in St Petersburg.
2. I was wooed by Ramsay Bolton.
3. I was on a double bill with the Reverend Jesse Jackson.

Describe your new show in exactly 23 words.

Coshowpolitan is the comedy alternative to a women's magazine. We have stand-up, how-to guides, an agony aunt section and a 'cover star' - yeah!

Any cunning plans to get more punters in?

We were tempted to replace every single magazine in this city with our own issue of Coshowpolitan. We did take on an article from the US Glamour website called "13 Ways to Make a Man Fall Hard for You", which you can see here

What's your plan for trying to eat - and drink - healthily during the Fringe?

Maddie: I bought a bunch of bananas and some couscous.

Dannie: I'm going to escape to Arthur's seat when I can. Can't be healthy here - you never tried Piemaker?

What will you miss most while you're away from home?

Maddie: I didn't pack this cool Rorchasch T-Shirt I have. It really is a great t-shirt.

Dannie: My dog paddy. He's naughty but cute. And my Adidas jacket.

Aside from performing, what else are you looking forward to doing in Scotland's fine capital?

Maddie: Scottish people.

Dannie: Scottish people.

If you took over programming a Fringe venue, what would your perfect line-up of comedians be?

Louis CK, Sara Pascoe, James Acaster, Beth Stelling, Steve Martin, Amy Poehler, and Rosie Holt. It would be a hoot!

Name the one person you'd rather not bump into during the festival.

Maddie: The monster from Stranger Things or a turdburger who ghosted on me last year and keeps requesting me on LinkedIn.

Dannie: My mam. She hates swearing. Hopefully not Sherlock- the hamster I'm minding.

Why should audiences pick your show over the 1,800+ other Fringe offerings listed on BCG this year?

Coshowpolitan is a welcome relief to the horror that is 2016. We're relative newbies but it's not a split show in the traditional sense - there's a theme with a point - let's face it, women's magazines are awful.

'Coshowpolitan' is at Globe Bar at 7:15pm until the 28th August. Listing
