Juliette Burton answers 10 questions about her 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show...

Give us a quick overview of your comedy career so far. Are you happy with where you're at?

I used to be a journalist, couldn't find any work during the recession so turned my sights back to my childhood dream of being a writer and actress. I found being an actress meant having a lot of "love interest" roles so started writing my own stuff.

I found comedy was where my voice was at. I began writing and performing as one half of Mace & Burton in 2011 and then went solo in 2013. My first solo show at Gilded Balloon did well, with sold out shows and a 3 month tour in Australia.

My second solo show did well, with more sold out shows at Edinburgh Fringe 2014 and 5 star reviews. In 2015 I had a total sold out run at Gilded Balloon. Then earlier this year I toured Australia and New Zealand with sold out shows and great reviews.

This is my third solo show, my 4th year at Gilded Balloon, my 6th year performing my own show at the Fringe. I feel like this show is a massive shift in my career, my voice. I'm being more "me" than in any other show. I'm taking more risks, but that's only because previous years have proved to me that taking risks is a good thing.

Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself (but mix them up, keep us guessing!).

1. I'm hyper-flexible in all my joints.

2. I'm half Scottish.

3. I was once bitten by a Shetland pony.

Describe your new show in exactly 23 words.

Silly, honest, fun, uplifting, raw, risky, life-changing show about a big decision I've got to make - a total waste of time and money.

Any cunning plans to get more punters in?

Enthusing to them on the street with honesty and integrity. And relying upon audiences to spread the word about the show once they've seen it. Not too cunning, but effective when it works.

What's your plan for trying to eat - and drink - healthily during the Fringe?

I used to live in Edinburgh so I have an idea of where to go to eat and drink healthily. It's important to me on sooooo many levels to do this... which will be hard perhaps, but I will make the effort. I have joined a gym for the month - so I have promised myself I will use that, if only for the sauna.

What will you miss most while you're away from home?

Edinburgh is like home to me; I only moved away last year after living here for a while. So it feels like coming home in lots of ways. I will miss living quietly. I like my quiet time. And my sofa.

Aside from performing, what else are you looking forward to doing in Scotland's fine capital?

Seeing friends and family whilst I'm here, eating and drinking in places that used to be local to me.

If you took over programming a Fringe venue, what would your perfect line-up of comedians be?

Daniel Kitson, Tape Face, Paul Kerensa, Steve Day, Bec Hill, Abigoliah Schamaun and Lili La Scala hosting it all.

Name the one person you'd rather not bump into during the festival.

Satan. Because the last time I met him it didn't turn out so well.

Why should audiences pick your show over the 1,800+ other Fringe offerings listed on BCG this year?

Because you read this Q&A to the end! I've been as honest in this as I will be in the show - real, raw, totally unsure of who I am and why any of us are here but I promise you a great hour full of passion, laughter, excitement and honesty. If that sounds like your kind of thing, I'm your girl. Plus I will not I repeat NOT pick on you. It's not that kind of show, I'm not that kind of girl.

'Juliette Burton: Decision Time' is at Gilded Balloon at 4:30pm until the 28th August. Listing
