Jamali Maddix: 10 Edinburgh Fringe questions

Jamali Maddix

Jamali Maddix answers 10 questions about his 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show...

Give us a quick overview of your comedy career so far. Are you happy with where you're at?

Well, I was on and off at the beginning but got into it seriously in 2011. And yeah, I'm fine with where I am I guess

Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself.

1. I believe in aliens
2. I didn't type this
3. I quit smoking

Describe your new show in exactly 23 words.

It's a stand-up show about consequences and choices and other things and my view points I dunno jokes I guess I don't need no more words

Any cunning plans to get more punters in?

Have a good show, and if that doesn't work, beg.

What's your plan for trying to eat - and drink - healthily during the Fringe?

I'll cook for the first few days and then I'll binge on fried Snickers because sadly I have the taste for them. Then I'll then start cooking again.

What will you miss most while you're away from home?

I'll miss buying alcohol from the corner shop at 1am and I'll miss that it's socially acceptable to push my way onto public transport.

Aside from performing, what else are you looking forward to doing in Scotland's fine capital?

I guess have a walk, go to that park near the train station, walk a hill... standard shit really.

If you took over programming a Fringe venue, what would your perfect line-up of comedians be?

I'd probably put it to a public vote see what the people want.

Name the one person you'd rather not bump into during the festival.

Probably me from the future to tell me doing the Fringe was pointless.

Why should audiences pick your show over the 1,800+ other Fringe offerings listed on BCG this year?

I dunno I mean they should go with their voodoo and if it ain't my show fair enough and if you do I promise to give at least 80% effort.

'Jamali Maddix: Chickens Come Home to Roost' is at Pleasance Courtyard at 8:15pm on 3-14, 16-29 Aug. Listing
