Holmes & Watson Farewell Tour: 10 Edinburgh Fringe questions

The team behind Holmes & Watson Farewell Tour answers 10 questions about their 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show...

Give us a quick overview of your comedy career so far. Are you happy with where you're at?

Adrian Banks (our Holmes) graduated The Birmingham School of Acting back in 2010 and has been delighting audiences in film, national TV commercials and local Pantos alike ever since.

Liam Nooney (Watson) finished training in New York also in 2010 and has since tried his hand at stand up, improv and most recently sketch comedy as part as the duo TiTs. He's also just finished filming a brand new comedy web series 'TestTubes' which you can watch online now.

Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself (but mix them up, keep us guessing!).

In preparation for the role Adrain watched the entire season of Sherlock in just a day and half and took to solving small crimes in his local area. He played a key role in solving the case of Tristan Our Director's Missing Car Keys.

This is Liam's second time in Edinburgh with Holmes and Watson the Farewell Tour. He first performed the show at the Ed Fringe 2012.

To really get into the headspace of the characters both Adrian and Liam took a tour around The London Dungeons whilst high on opiates. Liam is still in therapy.

Any cunning plans to get more punters in?

Yes! For every 50 tickets sold we'll be auctioning off an all-expense paid date with our very own leading man - Adrian Banks. We've been assured that he's pretty much down for anything and is just as emotionally cold and detached as the real Sherlock Holmes. Which lets face it, is pretty sexy. Now if that's not incentive enough, we don't know what is.

What's your plan for trying to eat - and drink - healthily during the Fringe?

Apart from a balanced diet of hard tobacco and neat whiskey, we'll probably throw in a couple of lettuce leaves for good measure. And we'll make sure to keep stocked up on Tropicana multi vitamins so that our immune systems stay strong. There have been whispers about a five mile morning jog up and around Arthur's Seat at the crack of dawn everyday... so yeah, we'll see how that goes.

What will you miss most while you're away from home?

Money.

Aside from performing, what else are you looking forward to doing in Scotland's fine capital?

Well originally we wanted to do something really authentically Scottish like Loch Ness monster hunting, but then we realised how far away Loch Ness actually is. So we'll have to settle for exploring Edinburgh Castle wearing woolly jumpers and kilts. And no underwear. Because of authenticity and that....

If you took over programming a Fringe venue, what would your perfect line-up of comedians be?

Well we'd definitely want to throw in some great improv troupes like Showstopper and NewsRevue 2016. Then a few of the more little known comedians that nobody knows about - you know like Michael Mcintrye, Seann Walsh, Katherine Ryan etc... Just to give them a fighting chance, the Fringe can be tough after all.

Name the one person you'd rather not bump into during the festival.

Moriarty! **GASP!** Wooooooooo** But he's dead! Is he? Who knows!

Why should audiences pick your show over the 1,800+ other Fringe offerings listed on BCG this year?

Ours has absolutely everything you'd want from an Edinburgh Fringe show. We'll give you fast paced comedy wrapped up in an irresistible mystery good enough to make Miss Marple rise from the dead. We've got cross dressing, magnifying glasses, a musical number, a sword fight and to top it off two leads who are sort of handsome. You know - in that "nice boy who works at the chemist" kind of way. You DO NOT want to miss it!

'Holmes & Watson: The Farewell Tour' is at theSpace on the Mile at 8:25pm until the 27th August. Listing
