Hayley Ellis: 10 Edinburgh Fringe questions
Hayley Ellis answers 10 questions about her 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show...
Give us a quick overview of your comedy career so far. Are you happy with where you're at?
I started doing stand up in 2009. Since then I've done tour support for some of my favourite acts, dabbled in radio on XFM and spoke about drunk people on an obscure channel.
Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself.
1. I am incredibly bad at lying.
2. I once fought a Bengal tiger.
3. I pronounce human as fewman because I was never taught to speak properly.
Describe your new show in exactly 23 words.
That is specific, 23 words. I've already used 9! It's a show about feeling you are missing out. I'm missing out on words.
Any cunning plans to get more punters in?
Cover up my posters and signpost that James Acaster is in my venue and then trap them all in.
What's your plan for trying to eat - and drink - healthily during the Fringe?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH that's funny. I mean seriously that is comedy gold.
What will you miss most while you're away from home?
Superfast Broadband
My Dog (although he's family)
Smiling
Aside from performing, what else are you looking forward to doing in Scotland's fine capital?
The vegetarian breakfast at the city café is amazing. So that and being able to burn off all the calories from said vegetarian breakfast, by walking everywhere as I cant afford taxis.
If you took over programming a Fringe venue, what would your perfect line-up of comedians be?
To save on money I'd just book one act. Keith Chegwin. He can do everyone else's material anyway.
Name the one person you'd rather not bump into during the festival.
A weeble, because even if you bump into them they never fall down. You'd be there for hours trying to get past them.
Why should audiences pick your show over the 1,800+ other Fringe offerings listed on BCG this year?
Don't let me tell you. Why not listen to the advice of a musical god?
'Hayley Ellis: FOMO' is at Just The Tonic at The Community Project at 9:35pm on 4-14, 16-28 Aug. Listing
