Andrew Ryan answers 10 questions about their 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show.

Give us a quick overview of your comedy career so far. Are you happy with where you're at?

I started back in 2008. I was 26 years old so had lived a little. I quit my job after 2 years and have not looked back. I'm very happy with what am doing and feel that every year I get better at it!

Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself.

1. I used to work as a private investigator.
2. When I was 14, I had a football trial with Everton that lasted 2 weeks.
3. I was ranked in the Top 100 at pool in Ireland.

Describe your new show in exactly 23 words.

It's about personal change, searching for a better me, while doing so realising being better will never be enough to make you happy.

Any cunning plans to get more punters in?

Nope! Just have a good show and hopefully people will come and all will be sweet.

What's your plan for trying to eat - and drink - healthily during the Fringe?

So far, so good. I've had vegetables every day and I've worked out. I am determined to not put weight on this year.

What will you miss most while you're away from home?

My new sofa. I got a new sofa delivered just before the Fringe and I've only sat on it twice.

Aside from performing, what else are you looking forward to doing in Scotland's fine capital?

Complaining about the weather, walking on the hill (Arthur's Seat) - all the usual stuff. I will probably go and play some golf at some point too.

If you took over programming a Fringe venue, what would your perfect line-up of comedians be?

Bill Burr, Phil Ellis, Tommy Tiernan and Kevin Bridges.

Name the one person you'd rather not bump into during the festival.

My accountant. If she saw what my money was being spent on she'd kill me.

Why should audiences pick your show over the 1,800+ other Fringe offerings listed on BCG this year?

It's a show from a comedian that is personal, funny, accessible and hopefully, you can take something away from it. I'm not trying to change the world. I can barely change myself!

'Andrew Ryan: Ruined' is at Assembly George Square Studios at 7:50pm on 3-14, 16-28 Aug. Listing
