The sell-out Regency hit returns! Austentatious is back in Edinburgh for a special limited run. Join the all-star cast as they improvise a brand new Jane Austen work before your very eyes, based on a single audience suggestion. Previous masterpieces include Sixth Sense and Sensibility, Double 0 Darcy and Mansfield Shark. No two shows are ever the same! Performed in period costume with live musical accompaniment, Austentatious is an unmissable experience. Swooning guaranteed. 'A potboiler of a parody, joyously performed' ***** (Times). 'One of the most enjoyable 60 minutes on the Fringe' **** (Guardian).

Austentatious: Edinburgh Fringe 2016 interview

I remember seeing Austentatious for the first time a few years as part of the free festival at the Counting House. The buzz was already strong for this marvellous improvised Jane Austen novel, with the queue trailing round the corner and both audience and cast seemingly loving every second of this one-off adventure. Since then the gang - which includes celebrated solo acts like Joseph Morpurgo, Rachel Parris and Cariad Lloyd - has gone from strength to strength, and has now set up home in the main Underbelly venue on George Square, serving as one of the Fringe's true success stories.

Rachel Parris: Edinburgh Fringe 2016 interview

Rachel Parris is one of the hardest working and talented performers at the Edinburgh Fringe. Not only is see a brilliant improviser in the acclaimed Austentatious, but her solo shows are always wonderful showcases for her gifts at songwriting and playing the piano.
