Maria has travelled the globe, charming audiences with her unique blend of Middle Eastern and American Mid-west perspectives. Touted by the LA Times as having "Janeane Garafalo type swagger, both funny and entertaining," her lovable demeanor and conversational delivery establish an instant rapport with her audiences as she naturally gives her funny take on parental expectations, dating in love-dead Los Angeles, and her struggles with reaching things. Little Ethnic Girl is a truly funny and sincere look at the first-generation immigrant experience.
Maria's stand-up has been featured on Comedy Central's The Watch List, Showtime's Bridging the Gap, and critically acclaimed films like Just Like Us and the documentary The Cradle of Comedy.
Most recently, she has won Best Comedian at the Hollywood Festival of New Cinema, and her web series My Super-Overactive Imagination won Best Comedy at the Miami Web Fest, where she was also nominated for Best Actress.
