How many shows at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe combine cabaret, leek & broccoli soup and Tom Jones? We're pretty confident that it's just going to be the one. So it's a good job it's awesome.
Is this normal? Well, it's not unusual...
Welcome to the first taste of Jo-Jo Bellini in the UK as she takes you into her strange world of gastronomic delights, big-band show tunes and Tom Jones.
In this debut performance, Miss Bellini will sing, sashay, season and sauté an evening of song and salacious sensations that will pique your senses and get your juices flowing with a cabaret style that's never been seen before - anywhere.
Jo-Jo Bellini woke up one day, and in a once-in-a-lifetime moment of inspiration, realized that what was truly missing from the world was a show that brought together her three true loves; cooking, cabaret and Tom Jones.
The result is a cooking show, far saucier than you've ever seen before, ... accompanied by songs written by the national treasure of animal magnetism and sex appeal that is Sir Tom Jones.
Audiences will be treated to a light supper cooked live on stage (tickets top out at £8 and you get fed into the bargain - and trust us, Jo-Jo is an amazing cook.)
Aiming to whip the audience into a frenzy, while whipping leeks and broccoli up into supper, with Welsh cakes for dessert, the menu is accompanied by Jo-Jo's impressive lungs belting classics from the valleys. The music sets the mood, the lyrics propel the plot, the food satiates the belly.
So; if you only see one show this year where an exceptionally vampy hostess cooks for the audience whilst singing specially selected Tom Jones songs, providing a truly sensual show - sight, sound, smell, taste and maybe a little bit of touch too ... then make it this one.
