Gyles Brandreth returns to the Edinburgh Fringe this year with his brand new show Word Power! Brandreth's previous two Edinburgh shows were five star sell-outs and Word Power! looks set to be just as engaging and boisterous as its predecessors. In addition, Gyles's brand new book Word Play will be released summer 2015.

As a true advocate for the importance of language, he wrote and performed a rap with The Sun Nation ahead of the election 2015. He saw the rap as both a bit of fun and extremely important.

Gyles Brandreth is one of Britain's busiest after-dinner speakers and award ceremony hosts. He has won awards himself, and been nominated for awards, as a public speaker, novelist, children's writer, broadcaster (Sony and Royal Television Society), political diarist (Channel Four), journalist (British Press Awards), theatre producer (Olivier), and businessman (British Tourist Authority Come to Britain Trophy). He has featured on This Is Your Life and Desert Island Discs and is a former chairman and now vice-president of the National Playing Fields Association.
