Who has the best Fringe poster?

Edinburgh Comedy Poster Awards

At last year's Edinburgh Fringe Festival, a welcome new addition to the line-up of awards popped up: The Comedy Poster Awards. Created to highlight great marketing artwork, the inaugural awards were won by Holly Walsh with the poster for her show Never Had It. See the 2014 winners

Now The Comedy Poster Awards are back for a second year running, and noticeably bigger than ever!

Sponsored by video production company Skatta TV, the prize fund has been boosted to £3000 to allow for an Audience Award to be added.

Comedy fans can pick their favourite posters of the festival via the awards' website. Quite simply, the poster with the most 5* votes when voting closes on the 16th August will take home a £1500 cash prize. At the time of writing, there are already a number of posters to vote for.

The other £1500 prize will be chosen by industry judges. The panel this year comprises of Chortle's Steve Bennett, British Comedy Guide's Aaron Brown, Alex Hardy from The Times, Tricia Lichfield from Skatta and Randel Bryan from Endemol Beyond.

Acts wishing to take part in the audience vote and judging process just need to upload their poster to the awards' website. It's free to take part.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony, produced by GetComedy, on the 17th August at 11:30pm. All the acts who enter the competition will be invited to attend the event, which will be hosted by Andrew Maxwell.

The Comedy Poster Awards were founded by producer Gina Lyons. She says: "I am so excited by The Comedy Poster Awards this year and thrilled Andrew Maxwell is hosting. I've always seen the Poster Awards as the naughty, drunken sister to the Foster's, and with Get Comedy and Skatta TV on board, I am confident it will be a night none of us can remember."
