Chris Martin answers 10 Edinburgh Fringe Questions
Chris Martin - no not that one, the stand-up - has a very unique extra layer for his show this year.
1. Tell us about your career so far. Are you happy with where you're at?
Think I started in 2005 and I'm always pretty happy but I do live in a little house/shed at the end of my mum and dad's garden so I definitely want to get to a level where this is no longer the case.
2. Describe your show in exactly 23 words.
This show contains a soundtrack underneath me saying stories and jokes about my parents about love, about owls and about stolen football stickers.
3. Why are you putting yourself through this famously stressful experience?
Because it improves you as a performer and I love Paradise Pizza.
4. Any cunning plans to get more punters in?
Write questionnaires like this. Is it working?
5. How much money do you think you'll lose/make this year?
That's a bit of a personal question. How much do you earn from your website per annum?
6. What's your weirdest past Fringe experience?
We set off a burglar alarm in a house we lived in playing hide and seek on day one. With Carl Donnelly and Benny Boot.
7. What other shows are you hoping to see?
Kyle Kinane and Cut (a theatre show, very good).
8. If you took over programming a venue, what would you perfect line-up of comedians be?
Louis Ck, Bill Burr, Chris Rock and Mitch Hedberg.
9. Name the one person you'd rather not bump into during the festival.
Giles Coke. He stole my football stickers when I was 6. I haven't forgiven or forgotten.
10. Why should audiences pick your show over the 1,700+ other comedy offerings at this year's festival?
It's probably the only show with an originally composed soundtrack underneath it.
'Chris Martin: This Show has a Soundtrack' is at 8:45pm at The Free Sisters on 6-18, 20-30 August. Listing
