Buckle Up is a new play offering an immersive, theatrical experience on a plane. From the moment the audience enter the theatre they become passengers on board the incapable, Budge-It Air. Despite being immersive, this piece is quick paced, contains slapstick and elements of farce.

Buckle Up satirises self-worth, vulnerability and narcissistic personality disorder. It highlights the extremes people go to to make their voice heard... or more accurately, get attention. In an environment where professional relationships can be jeopardised by personal conflict, the intimacy of the setting allows no escape for the passengers as the characters face escalating danger.

As an apprentice company of the Redbridge Drama Centre in London, Buckle Up Theatre Company take the next step in their journey by bringing two new shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this year. The other is Bump (Gilded Balloon, 5-31 Aug) a highly physical, two hander exploring how lives become entangled.

The company was founded by three Mountview graduates who are passionate about creating new writing that focuses on comedy, modern clowning and providing an experience that encourages the audience to become active participants in the lives of the characters they are watching. The show is written by two of the founding members, Andrew Hollingworth and Tim Gutteridge.
