Wild Card Kitty: The Showgirl Show
Wild Card Kitty presents a showcase exploring the glamorous world of being a showgirl in show business. Mixing deadpan humour, character comedy and cabaret seamlessly, she makes the sexy look funny... wait... no... After encouragement from others Kitty moved into performing comedy and has found her natural home. Trained in clowning and physical theatre, she combines her epic failures and love of vintage showgirl aesthetic together with genuine burlesque performing experience to create a unique show that perfectly encapsulates her talents and introduces you to your new favourite comedy characters. 'Dita John Cleese' (Scotsman).

The Showgirl Show is the debut solo Fringe show from Glasgow-based burlesque performer and comedienne Wild Card Kitty. Blending cabaret, character comedy, and a sense of humour that ranges from tongue-in-cheek to pitch black and acerbic, Wild Card Kitty creates three distinctive female characters, each exploring aspects of fame, femininity and show business.
Using her personal experience of the Burlesque and Vintage scenes, Wild Card Kitty's three new characters are truthful, hilarious, outrageous and tragic: a bored, self-absorbed diva, an enthusiastic young thing desperately seeking fame at any cost, and a former star now in her twilight years. All three resonate and come together to create an exciting and unique showcase.
Wild Card Kitty's under ego, Catriona Ruth Paterson, works as a creative freelancer based in Glasgow, writing, directing, producing and performing work under the name The Kitten Has Claws. With a BA (Hons) in Tapestry, an MFA in Fine Art and a Diploma in Physical Theatre, she has worked in performance, installation and film before falling in love with Burlesque and Cabaret. She was the Artistic Director of the infamous Bongo Club Cabaret (including its final award-winning run in 2012) as well as having had work commissioned for the Arches (Glasgow) and performing with the likes of National Theatre of Scotland and at Miss Exotic World in Las Vegas. Her work has always contained a wry sense of humour.
