A brand new improvised show, where top comedians play lawyers prosecuting and defending charges set against YOU, is set to storm the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this summer.
See newly appointed Judge, Tim Fitzhigham preside over the proceedings alongside court clerk Thom Tuck, who will be laying down the law on special guest defendants and their lawyers. Previously, special guest lawyers have included Al Murray, Janey Godley, Marcus Brigstocke, Mark Dolan, Yasmine Akram, Tony Law, Stuart Goldsmith and Trevor Lock.
David Allison is a law graduate, a writer, director and maker of films and TV, lover of comedy. He came up with the idea of personalised comedy shows after he was brought up on stage at the Queen's Head in Camden by the MC, Sara Pascoe. After putting Kate Copstick on Trial at the Fringe 2013 he began working with producer Emily Gough and the improv format was born.
This Is Your Trial returns to Edinburgh after last year's huge success, where the cast put Gary Locke, the manager of local football club Hearts FC on trial before 200 fans, and Scotsman critic Kate Copstick in another trial. This year see's the phenomenon return with a whole host of guests with support from Arts&business Scotland for working with local business Inksters Solicitors.
Make your way to the Assembly George Square from 30th July to 24th August where you will find this newly formed court, where everyone is guilty until proven innocent!
