Almost. A hotly-tipped debut show from yet another comedian. You'll find out if he can get over himself enough to 'make it', assuming we find out what making it is. You'll see how he gets over some of what's holding him back. Bonus! Find out if England needs independence from Scotland in a bit that makes no sense. Plus famed director and restaurant critic Sir Richard Attengrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr also makes an appearance. And every day, someone will leave bordering on a winner. 'The foundations of the performance are hilarious' (BroadwayBaby.com). 'Happy...' (Chortle.co.uk). #almost

More details

Sean Brightman, the almost popular wide-faced comedian heads up to Edinburgh for his very first and only ever debut solo show.

In this hour he takes on the role he was almost born to play: Almost Sean Brightman, the 'comedians comedians comedian'.

And with him you will find here a show full of originality, enthusiasm and an approach that is infectious, without making you need to take a week off work:

And this year, Almost Sean Brightman is manufacturing mirth by addressing his fears live on stage: failure, hecklers, reviewers, competitions and confident people who sit in the front row to bring you a show made for (his) sheer entertainment pleasure.

Almost Sean Brightman will of course be helped along in these endeavours by a couple of his 'showbiz pals': not least of all 70s children's TV puppet icon Jimmy Badger and fast ageing film director and restaurant critic Sir Richard 'Dickie' Attengrrrrrrr, plus his "great value" tech guy, (BBC New Comedian of the Year finalist), Mark Silcox who will be there "on many of the days" (Mark Silcox).

Not to say this is all 'lightweight family entertainment'. Almost Sean Brightman will deal with some big incomprehensible and inconceivable subjects, like mental health, the dinosaurs and solving the current international crisis engulfing England and Scotland. It will almost certainly contain this joke:
"J.K. Rowling shouldn't have spent a million pounds to help the people of England and Scotland stay unified, she should have just give a million people a Quiddich."

It all adds up to give audiences another "...one of those hidden gems of the fringe" (audience review on EdFringe.com)

If just one person leaves the venue happier than when they came in, then Almost Sean Brightman will be a massive failure. But then we'll all just have to go home and try much harder next year.
