Fringe Review, 29th July 2014More details
Hard-hitting, critically acclaimed German comedian Paco Erhard returns to the Edinburgh Fringe with his edgiest, most personal show yet. Candid and hilarious, Worst. German. Ever. is a show about travels, sex, drugs, mistakes, tears, adventures and just how much he sucks at being German.
12 years ago, Paco walked away from the life he knew and the ordinary career that loomed ahead and hitchhiked out of Germany. Inspired by the philosophy of the Beat Generation and armed only with his dreams of 'The Road', this would be the decision that turned a German dreamer into an adventurous traveller and driven comedian. His confessional explorations of the events that have made him the person he is today, lead Paco to consider how we are expected to be and behave, and how we can shed or overcome these expectations.
Combining the story of his life's pivotal hours with poignant observational comedy about the state of Society, Paco will reflect on consumerism, media lies, a world governed by greed and marketing and our search for existential experiences and meaning. A bold and persuasive stand-up, Paco's inner conflict of cynicism and romanticism is at the heart of his thought-provoking world view.
Having achieved packed houses throughout the Edinburgh Fringe since 2011 with his smash hit shows 5 Step Guide to Being German and Djerman Unchained, Paco has entertained sell out audiences at the Brighton Fringe, Altitude Festival, Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival and Perth Fringe World Festival where he was nominated for the 'Best Comedy' Award in 2013. Paco has also performed for the German-Australian chamber of commerce, the Goethe-Institut, the German consulate general, high-IQ society Mensa, and at various educational institutions.
