Sometimes from great tragedy comes dazzling entertainment. The Invisible Dot Ltd. is thrilled to present the triumphant arrival of enigmatic Antipodean and cult-hero-in-the-offing Nick Coyle and his overt fiction.

Nick Coyle, winner of 'Best On Stage' at the Sydney Music and Culture Awards, 'Brisbane Powerhouse Outstanding Comedy', Melbourne Fringe, brings Double Tribute to Edinburgh; an absurd DIY dystopia. Nick's girlfriend has passed away and now, struck with grief, he is intent on honouring her memory. He sets about carrying out her final wish - to honour the memory of her dead secret lover...

This show is a ham-fisted tribute-within-a-tribute. Coyle - a posturing multi-character monopersona - is the show's awkward puppet master. Cardboard sets, clumsily-prepared props, Double Tribute is a no-holes-barred celebration of surrealist humour and graceless theatre. This is an arena-production, performed in a cave. A journey of sexual awakening and grief; an hour of song, dance, and mourning.

Coyle first appeared at the Fringe in 2008 as a member of sketch trio Pig Island, alongside Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Claudia O'Doherty. Double Tribute is the Australian's solo debut, with his relentless creativity and wilful approach to bizarreset-pieces coming from a similar place to O'Doherty. He has also collaborated with Irish comedy star Maeve Higgins.

Coyle lives in Sydney, and works as a writer, director, and performer. He has his own radio show on Sydney's FBi 94.5, and also produces theatre for children. He has performed multiple times at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Melbourne Fringe, and the Adelaide Fringe, and is currently developing projects for television.
