A one-woman show following one girl's journey through the confusion and mayhem of growing up. Written and performed by Joanna Griffin, and directed by Lauren Bracewell, this stand-up theatre piece takes a tongue-in-cheek look at how to be a woman. Starting from clueless adolescence through groping teenage boyfriends, slut dropping students at uni through to the tragic office party, Clown Slut asks if shaking out to MC Hammer might make us happier than marriage, mortgages and mowing our muffs.

Late one night after being kicked out of a club for 'dancing too aggressively', Joanna stumbled onto the night bus bound for Barnet outraged, upset, and a little bit inebriated. As she munched away on her consolatory lamb doner a charming lad bantered that she was 'a slut trapped in the body of a clown.' And thus Clown Slut was born.

Written and performed by Joanna Griffin and directed by Lauren Bracewell, this hilarious slice of stand-up theatre sees Joanna take a tongue-in-cheek look at the challenges of growing up. From clueless adolescence to groping teenage boyfriends, slut dropping students at uni right through to the tragic office party, Clown Slut asks if shaking out to MC Hammer might make us happier than marriage, mortgages and mowing our muffs.

A gifted and fearless performer, Joanna Griffin has an impressive list of credits, including roles at Donmar Warehouse and the BBC. She brings Clown Slut to Edinburgh for the first time as part of the PBH Free Fringe, following successful runs in London (The Old Red Lion) and Nottingham (The Den) last year. She's joined by director Lauren Bracewell of Local Girl Productions, a pool of emerging artists who create extraordinary theatre for and about ordinary humans.
