The best audience selfies from Stuart Laws's show

Stuart Laws

Stuart Laws's show - titled, in a subtly amusing way, Stuart Laws When's This Gonna Stop? (1hr Show) - at first seems to comprise of fairly conventional, albeit well observed, stand-up comedy. However, by the end of the hour everything has gone slightly mad, in a good way - for example, have you ever heard of Lebkuchen before? No, we hadn't either.

Laws - who is James Acaster's support act when not at the Fringe - has created the following map to try to provide a guide to his show. You'll probably have to turn up for it to all make sense though:

Stuart Laws - Official Map

Across the show, Laws manages to instil a lovely warm community feel. The "audience selfies" he takes at the end of each show, which he then posts on Twitter (@thisstuartlaws), are evidence of this.

Here's four of the best photos so far:

Stuart Laws. Show 3

This was one of the first shows. Spot the grumpy reviewer from Broadway Baby - he seemed to be the only one not enjoying the comedy.

Stuart says: "Last year Broadway Baby called me, an Englishman, an "amiable Aussie". This year they implied I was a bully. The photo is evidence of an entire audience cowed by my bullying."

Stuart Laws. Show 10

Check out the woman in the front row holding her leg at an almost impossible angle. Stuart says she did this "out of sheer excitement about what she'd just seen (an hour of amazing stand-up)".

Stuart Laws. Show 9

The YPlan app gang turned up for Show 9. This tweet from an audience member endorses that they had a good time.

Stuart Laws. Show 8

For this show, Stuart has ended up in the second row, sitting on a man called Arnie's lap.

Stuart reveals: "Two people loved the show so much that they volunteered to flyer for it for free. I'm so bad at negotiating they are now flyering for me but getting paid HANDSOMELY."

To appear in one of Stuart's audience photos (and enjoy an hour of comedy) turn up to his show. It's at The Banshee Labyrinth at 2:20pm until the 23rd August. It's a Free Fringe show. Listing
