Radio 1 to live stream stand-up from the Edinburgh Fringe
Radio 1 is to host a stand-up gig at the Edinburgh Festival to showcase young stand-up talent.
The comedy show will be broadcast live on the national radio station, and will also be available to watch live via the BBC's Red Button television service and online via the BBC website and YouTube.
The show will be hosted by Radio 1 presenters Phil Taggart and Alice Levine as part of their show on Monday 11th August. Broadcasting from the BBC's pop-up venue at the festival, the stand-up acts will go out on the radio, TV and online from 10pm to midnight.
The BBC says: "The two-hour comedy spectacular will take place in front of a live audience and feature performances from the best in stand-up from the year's most exciting acts."
Dane Baptiste, Luisa Omeilan, Suzi Ruffell and Joel Dommett are four comedians who have already been booked to perform.
Radio 1's afternoon host, Scott Mills, and his sidekick Chris Stark, will also take part in the show, in what the BBC are promising will be a "very special live and uncut performance" from the duo.
Phil And Alice Live From Edinburgh Festival will be broadcast live from 10pm on Monday 11th August. You can listen on Radio 1, or watch live on the Red Button, the Radio 1 YouTube channel or the Radio 1 website.
