2014 Edinburgh Fringe
Dan Nightingale is Trying His Best Not to Be a Dick
International comedian, Lancastrian socialite and circuit legend Dan Nightingale returns to the Fringe for another festival frolic. He may actually be a bit of a dick, but my God he's funny with it. As seen on Sky 1's John Bishop's Only Joking. 'Funny as hell' (Leicester Mercury). 'An enthusiastically charming albeit self-deprecating storyteller' ***** (ThreeWeeks). 'Witty observations and well-timed delivery' (Gulf Weekly - Bahrain).

Fringe cut: Best of the northwest in Edinburgh
Every August our friends in the North ruthlessly steal all of our comedians for an entire month. Frankly, it's not on. Still, we've rounded up some of our favourites from the Northwest circuit you should check out if you head to Edinburgh for the Fringe.

Ben Hewis, What's On Stage, 9th June 2014Fringe 2014: the 10 best show titles this year
With the bulk of the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe listings released yesterday, we've spent the past 24 hours sifting through the lot. They say a good show title can put bums on seats - and if that's true, these ten comedians are in for a treat this August.
Andrew Dipper, Giggle Beats, 11th April 2014More details
International festival comedian, circuit legend and Lancastrian socialite, Dan Nightingale returns to the Edinburgh Fringe with a brand new hour of stand up.
In his new show, Dan charts his past year in love and life and his family's ups and downs through illness and old age. He questions his own atheism, discusses accidental racism and has an incident with an overweight squirrel in Chelsea. There's a definite possibility that he's a bit of a dick, but who cares when he's this funny with it?
Fresh from a critically acclaimed run of this show at the New Zealand Comedy Festival, a triumphant return to the Preston Playhouse for a 'Hometown Hero' one man show and an appearance on Sky 1's John Bishop's Only Joking, Dan Nightingale is back at the Fringe with his best show to date.
Dan is widely regarded as one of the best performers working on the comedy circuit today. Mixing fiendishly accurate observation with energetic characterisations and killer punch lines his comedy is original, playful, intelligent, poignant and exciting; sometimes ridiculous... but always hilarious.
Dan is a regular headliner at the Glees, the Stands and the Frog and Bucket in Manchester, as well as other leading clubs all over the UK, Europe and the Middle East. He has been performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival on and off since 2004, gathering a plethora of 4 and 5 star reviews. As well as developing his reputation as a top-class circuit headliner and in-demand MC and host, he has also done regular TV warm up for the likes of Jonathan Ross, John Bishop and Celebrity Juice. His new comedy Podcast Dan Nightingale's In The House is available on iTunes.
