Gavin Robertson focuses his attention on the Bond phenomenon, in his latest physical cartoon-style parody - spoofing the characters adored by millions, and exploding every cliché in the book(s)... solo!
Gavin has a rich history with the Fringe: from first appearing in the late eighties in what went on to be a six-times West End hit, Thunderbirds F.A.B. to performing in Guy Masterson's comedian-led style-starter 12 Angry Men (featuring one Bill Bailey) and Nica Burns' initially troubled star vehicle for Christian Slater, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest to his own productions, Spittoon (every Western you've ever seen), 2010 A Space Oddity (every Space Movie you've ever seen), Fantastical Voyage (every stop-frame animation movie you've ever seen) plus The Six-Sided Man based on cult book The Dice Man and Blowing It- a one-man play he brought over from New Zealand.
Now it's time for Bond! in which he meets his greatest arch-villain yet: Ian Fleming himself, courtesy of a time-machine, and featuring the smallest car chase (n)ever seen! The show has already been seen in the USA, Australia and Europe... Minimum props, maximum effect!
On preparing his latest comedy, Gavin said, "People assume I spent hours watching all the movies but I didn't watch any! I wanted the clichés to be what we all know, not a nerd-fest of trivia..."
On being asked what an audience could expect he added, "It has a cartoon feel- imagine Austin Powers meets Scooby Doo in a suit, and you won't be far wrong!"
