Short Com: An Edinburgh Fringe show with a conscience?

The 2013 Fringe sees the first appearance of Chris Aitkens' Short Com at the festival. Woopy Doo you may say, but this is a show with a difference. Not only will they be showcasing some of the UK's best comedy film making talent, they are also aiming to raise £1000 for mental health charity CALM in the process.

Short Com makes it's fringe debut as part of the PBH Free Fringe programme. After carefully studying audience reaction's to previous Short Com events, the programme has been narrowed down to it's tightest running order yet of 50 minutes of the funniest independently made short comedy films that range from live action to animation, with some of the films already award winning.

This is Short Com's tightest programme yet and should ideally be the funniest short film programme in the UK. Whilst supporting new film and comic talent, Short Com is hoping to raise £1000 and awareness for it's sponsored charity CALM.

Short Com will be supported by some wonderful guest presenters such as Jo Caulfield, Mick Ferry, Alastair Barrie, Stuart Laws, Nadia Kamil, That Pair, Thomas Black, Paul F Taylor and Jess Fostekew, Becky Shorrocks and Toby Williams and hopefully some more names in time to come.

Short Com is at The City Nightclub, Venue 90. It's free entry with a voluntary donation. Short Com will also make it's London debut appearance in October at the 4th and 5th at the Pleasance Islington. Submissions for future showcases will open after the Fringe.
