2013 Edinburgh Fringe

Preview: The Wrestling II

A couple of years ago The Wrestling was the most talked about show at the Edinburgh Fringe... and it walked away with one of the major awards.

Organised by former wrestler turned comedian Max Olesker (from sketch duo Max & Ivan), it was the event in which world-class wrestlers met world-class comedians in a late night, heart-pounding, edge-of-your seat spectacular.

At the time, one of the BCG visitors posted the following review, which helps give an idea of what the event was like: "I think this is one of the best things I've ever seen. I'm not exactly into wrestling, so didn't know what to expect, but it was hilarious, exciting, and I was literally on the edge of my seat, screaming my head off. I loved every minute, and they need to bring this back next year!!!"

Well, after a break of a year, the show returns to the Pleasance on the 13th for another singular show. The tickets are all gone, but we can still enjoy the build-up thanks to some funny videos featuring this year's team coaches...

Tim Vine - aka Dr. Pun Ishment - has this to day:

Coach O'Hanlon - aka Ardal O'Hanlon is perhaps a little calmer about the whole thing:

Nick Helm is ready for more broken bones:

Angelos Epithemiou is the latest recruit to Team Pun Ishment:

Thom 'Powerplay' Tuck is also on Team Pun Ishment:

'The Administrator' is on Team O'Hanlon:

Dan 'The Hammer' Head has a go at 'Explosenthal' (Tom Rosenthal):

'Party' Marty Scurll is getting in the zone:

Rishi Ghosh, 'The Prince of Mumbai', has not been invited to perform, but he's still filmed this:

Max & Ivan are not quite so united after all:

Here's the general teaser trailer:

And Colt Cabana is looking for a ticket:

Stay tuned for the results.
