2013 Edinburgh Fringe
Bridget Christie - A Bic for Her
'Most original act I've seen for years' (Harry Hill). Star of BBC Radio 4's Bridget Christie Minds the Gap, BBC2's It's Kevin, and Comedy Central's Alternative Comedy Experience, starts the day by eroticising waterproof jackets and roller coasters, ridiculing biro manufacturers, and destroying the patriarchy. And all at 11:10 am in a Gloucester accent. Includes some shouting. The only stand-up to have been billed alongside both Lionel Blair and Naomi Wolf. 'Has real political bite ... brilliant.' (Telegraph). 'Hits highs of genuine brilliance' (Chortle.co.uk). 'Avant-garde comedian of prodigious talent' (Guardian). 'Utterly entertaining'(Times). 'Hilarious'(Observer).

Laugh Out London, 24th July 2013More details
This year Bridget has appeared in BBC Radio 4's Bridget Christie Minds The Gap, the Amish/Sex Pistols sketch on BBC Two's It's Kevin, Comedy Central's Alternative Comedy Experience, and BBC One's Have I Got News for You, and was the most conspicuously under-qualified feminist at the South Bank Centre's Women Of The World festival. Bridget Christie is the only stand-up to have been billed alongside both Lionel Blair and Naomi Wolf.
Pushed over the edge by rage and confusion, Bridget Christie has finally replaced the elaborate animal costumes and strange 17th century props she used in her previous seven solo shows with simple frustration and some shouting. But is a lady comedian even allowed to shout? Why does BiC think women need special biros? Who decided that Margaret Thatcher and Beyonce were feminist icons? Hasn't feminism got anyone else? Why is Bridget pleased that Sir Stirling Moss, the former British racing driver, fell 50ft down a lift shaft, breaking both his ankles? And why wouldn't Stylist Magazine let Bridget write an article about Malala Yousafzai, the 15 year old Pakistani schoolgirl shot by the Taliban?
