2012 Edinburgh Fringe
The Yarn
Belly laughs, tender poignancy and bitter heartbreak. Step beyond the golden haystacks into a 1800s rural village fighting for survival and be woven into a ragged patchwork of joyous tales, painful rituals and bizarre superstitions. With the coming of the industrial age the villagers descend into poverty and the tales they tell become increasingly comic and fantastical. MATE Drama Workshop returns to the Fringe with this highly entertaining and evocative production that once again challenges the boundaries of traditional community theatre. Dark comedy, physical storytelling - Lark Rise meets Berkoff. Unmissable. Check out our short promo film at www.vimeo.com/37073222.
