Luke Wright is a poet, performer and festival curator. Perhaps best known to a wider audience for his witty and empathetic contributions as poet-in-residence to BBC Radio 4's Saturday Live, he has become a trailblazer for performance and written poetry. He is also a regular contributor to radio, TV and newspapers, has written poetry for films and television, including the groundbreaking Channel 4 documentary The Seven Ages of Love. He might just be the hardest working man in poetry.
Luke is also host and programmer of the Latitude Festival's Poetry Arena, the largest single poetry event in Europe. He has programmed many other poetry festivals and events, including the Edinburgh Fringe's first ever, and to date only, dedicated poetry venue.
Luke Wright: Your New Favourite Poet has been selected for Escalator East To Edinburgh. Each year Escalator, East to Edinburgh helps artists and arts organisations to raise their profile and perform to new audiences as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
