What is it? Trying to wear tiny jackets over your spikes? Or every time you get close to somebody, you might get hurt? After discovering this analogy for human intimacy Felicity pondered, 'What kind of hedgehog am I?' and then she wrote this show. ****1/2 'side-splittingly funny and so honest it hurts' (Age). ****1/2 'funny enough to bring tears to your eyes and leave you gasping for breath' (Herald Sun). Nominee - Best Comedy, Adelaide Fringe Festival 2012. Winner - Best Local Act, TimeOut, Sydney Comedy Festival 2011.

Felicity Ward: How to write a 'piece'

Felicity Ward starts off writing an article about her Fringe experience, but ends up writing about writing an article. If that makes sense.

British Comedy Guide, 17th August 2012

Interview: Felicity Ward

This year's Edinburgh Festival Fringe welcomes her back with a brand new solo show, The Hedgehog Dilemma. With not a clue what to expect from such a cryptic title, we had to ask her what it was all about.

What is The Hedgehog Dilemma? Trying to wear tiny jackets over your spikes, or every time that you get close to somebody, you might get hurt? After discovering this analogy for human intimacy, Felicity pondered, "What kind of hedgehog am I?" ...and then she wrote this show. A hilarious, raw and heartfelt exploration into an autobiographical tale you wish was made up. The Hedgehog Dilemma won over the crowds and critics at the Australian festivals this year and plans to de-spike the crowds of Edinburgh this summer.

Felicity first bounced onto the Australian comedy scene in 2005 in Ten Network's popular sketch show The Ronnie Johns Half Hour. She has since gone on to become one of Down-Under's favourite funny people, appearing in ABC's prominent comedy quiz show Spicks and Specks as well as Thank God You're Here (Channel 7) and Good News Week (Channel Ten).

In 2009, Felicity took her award-winning debut solo show Ugly As A Child Variety Show to the Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Edinburgh Comedy Festivals. She has toured internationally, from Hong Kong to Singapore, and earlier this year co-starred in Working Dog Productions' (from the makers of The Castle and The Dish) new Australian comedy movie Any Questions For Ben?
