2012 Edinburgh Fringe
Dan Nightingale: The 11 and a 1/2 Ill-conceived Edinburgh Shows Of Dan Nightingale
In trying to come up with one snappy concept for this year's Fringe, Dan Nightingale (one-time regular warm up for Jonathan Ross, Chortle Award nominee and cycling proficiency badge holder) came up with a varied mush of show ideas, some good, some retarded... ranging from heartfelt self-analysis to hackneyed genre slapping. In failing to choose one, he decided it'd be funny to explain them all. So behold! The 11 and a 1/2 Ill-conceived Edinburgh Shows of Dan Nightingale. 'Exciting and imaginative' (Edinburgh Evening News).

Interview: Dan Nightingale
We were impressed with the concept: take nearly-twelve ill conceived ideas and turn them into one winning show. Then our reviewer was impressed with results. A Q&A had to follow.
ThreeWeeks, 15th August 2012Fringe diaries #2: Dan Nightingale
So here we are in the second week of the festival and I'm sure, by this point, a lot of comics will be obsessing with what's happening with their show, and with reviews, and with poor audiences, and also be facing up to the slightly depressing realisation that they can't drink as consistently and to the same high standard that they were able to five years ago.

In trying to come up with one snappy concept for this year's fringe, Dan Nightingale (One-time regular warm up for Jonathan Ross, Chortle Award nominee for best compere & cycling proficiency badge holder) came up with a variety of show ideas; some good, some less so...ranging from heartfelt self-analysis to hackneyed genre slapping. In failing to choose one, he decided it'd be funny to explain them all. So behold! The 11 ½ ill-Conceived Edinburgh Shows of Dan Nightingale i.e. a fractured insight into the brilliance/idiocy of a frustrated comic.
One of the UK circuit's hidden gems, Dan Nightingale is one of the best performers working today. Mixing brilliant observation and energetic characterizations with killer punch lines his comedy is original, playful, intelligent, exciting, sometimes ridiculous but always hilarious. He's a natural with the crowd, bouncing off any audience interaction wonderfully, making him a much sought after host and MC.
A regular headliner at his famous local comedy club, the Frog and Bucket, where he founded the hugely successful Beat the Frog night. He is also a favourite at some of the best clubs in the country. In 2004 & 2005 he developed his skills performing early material at the Edinburgh Fringe, alongside award winning comedian Josie Long. He returned in 2008 with his first full show Geronimo, a well-received hour-long stand-up debut, which he took to New Zealand International Comedy Festival the following year. Dan has also gigged around Europe and as far afield as Dubai.
As well as stand-up, Dan's other work includes voiceover work for children's television, local radio & television warm up at ITV and BBC, including work on The Jonathan Ross show. He's also gigged with Ross Noble, Michael McIntyre and been a regular on The Johnny Vegas & Friends shows.
