2011 Edinburgh Fringe
Totty Galore and the Expanding Suitcase
Comedy with a serious theme, the show embraces the tradition of English pantomime - the clown and dame. Frank is an old-style street vendor, striving to make enough money to spoil his wife, Totty, with presents. Through his unique selling style we watch the expanding suitcase reveal its surprising contents. When Frank dies from overwork, his widow is left alone with his suitcase, her memories and her views on love, life and the world around her. William Dashwood plays the two characters, Frank and Totty, with skill and sensitivity using mime, music and monologue.
