The hottest new name in comedy and star of Channel 4's hit show Friday Night Dinner, Tom Rosenthal bring his debut solo show to the Edinburgh Fringe 2011.

Son of sports presenter Jim Rosenthal, Tom explores the privileges of the many and the few, as well as some low-fi Powerpoint slides, in this hilarious and thoughtful new hour at the Pleasance Attic.

Combining a likeable charm with sharp, satirical wit, Tom has quickly established himself as one to watch following a rapid ascendancy in the world of comedy. Having been named Paramount's Funniest Student and reached the finals of the Amused Moose and the Laughing Horse New Act of the Year competitions, Tom was invited to appear as part of comedy showcase The Lunchtime Club at the Fringe in 2010.

His ascent in 2011 has been even more impressive as he was named Leicester Mercury Comedian of the Year in March. Soon after, the 23-year old's performance as Jonny in Robert Popper's acclaimed sitcom Friday Night Dinner aired, alongside a main cast of Tamsin Greig, Mark Heap, Simon Bird and Paul Ritter. Tom secured widespread praise for his work, including being named as part of the Radio Times' Class of 2011 - a feature on the hottest new talent on TV and radio this year.

Tom's talents also extend to theatre and his incredible rise continued when he successfully auditioned for Laurence Olivier Award winning director Dominic Cooke's production for The Royal Court Theatre, Chicken Soup with Barley, taking his place in a cast also including Samantha Spiro.

User reviews

Very poor, came accross as the title suggests as a spoilt a**e who nobody had the guts to tell that his material was substandard. Naively tried to take the mickey out of tennis player Andy Murray in Scotland, he is truely his fathers son! We had been to see Potted Potter in the afternoon and felt that a dementor had sucked the will to live during this hour. If I had not sat so far away from the door I would have left well before the end.
