Channel Four presenter, award-winning author and Time Out award-winning performer Tim Clare presents your must-have guide to leadership.

At 15, Tim was made editor of his school newspaper. After instigating a reign of terror that left a little boy with learning difficulties severely traumatized, he vowed to never again seek power... until now. With tyrants and evil masterminds toppling across the globe, Tim is bringing his old skills out of retirement. His quest: to save the world's least favourite endangered species - dictators.

Using stand-up, multimedia lecture and Frazzles, Tim explains how he escaped a knife-wielding heckler and the true story of how Willy Wonka inspired the Jonestown Massacre. He reveals the 6 Rules Of Leadership and tries to buy a magic mind-control crown. As a finale, he pays tribute to history's most influential females in a no-holds-barred rap battle royale. Throughout the show, followers are kept in line with a water pistol and screaming. Lots of screaming.

Script edited by Simon Munnery. Directed by Nathan Filer.

Tim Clare is a stand-up poet, author and musician. In 2005 he presented the Channel 4 series How To Get A Book Deal. His first book, We Can't All Be Astronauts, a memoir about jealousy and having one last shot at achieving your dreams, won Best Biography / Memoir at the East Anglian Book Awards. He is a member of the poetry collective Aisle 16, who won the Time Out Critics' Choice Of The Year Award in 2005, and have regularly headlined festivals all over the world. How To Be A Leader is the follow-up to Tim Clare's Death Drive - A mix of stand-up and poetry, the show was the true account of how his father's attempts to deal with his son's depression led to a suicide pact during a late night drive.

Tim Clare will be appearing daily at The Poetry Takeaway - the world's first purpose-built mobile poetry emporium which he is co-creator of - serving up bespoke poems in ten minutes or less all month (Aug 4-28, Bristo Square). Tim also appears in poetry triple-header, Aisle 16 R Kool, with Luke Wright & John Osborne (Aug 6-27, 21.50).
