A jailhouse spectacular. Three-part harmony sensation The Segue Sisters are in prison. It's exactly like The Shawshank Redemption, but with different characters, plot, setting, and everything else. In a story of survival, great escapes, love, violence, barred windows and rubber ducks, The Segue Sisters will steal your heart, your thoughts and your wife. A debut show of music, mirth, and mobility vehicles featuring familiar songs and amounts of almighty advertising alliteration, aaah. "Melodious, witty and absurdly sexy" (Arthur Smith). "The funniest and most honest comic singers of their generation" (List).

Jailbird - The Segue Sisters interview

More details

Segue Sisters Carrie Marx, Charlotte Jo Hanbury and Kerrie Fairclough combine their harmonious singing and unique comic personas to give a fresh take on classic tunes from the past, present and future.

Originally taking their influence from 1940′s singing trio The Andrews Sisters, the girls incorporate this classic style of singing to perform a range of repertoire from Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B to the more contemporary rock songs of groups such as Nirvana and Alice Cooper - to provide a cheeky comic twist.

The girls first met whilst working on various Edinburgh Musicals in 2008 before collaborating with highly talented pianist Kirsty Newton in April 2009 to form as the Segue Sisters.

The group have become a popular addition to London's Comedy and Variety circuit with regular appearances at venues such as the Leicester Square Theatre, Café De Paris, Pigalle and Hackney Empire. They returned from a successful Edinburgh Festival in 2010 performing in Arthur Smith's Cobbled up Shambles and Itch A Scratch Event with the Comedians Theatre Company (Pleasance Court Yard). The girls received much attention from their choice of Transport - The Segway - which they were sponsored to promote for the run of the festival; and enjoyed guest spots on MacAulay & Co (BBC Radio Scotland); Hardeep Singh Kohli's Chat Masala and Stephen K Amos's Chat Show, Time Out Live's: Laugh Out Loud and Spotlight Award Winning show Vive Le Cabaret.

The Segue Sisters are enjoying being back on the London Circuit and as well as continuing their work with Arthur Smith, touring in his sell out show Arthur Smith At Large.

The girls are very much looking forward to performing their premier Edinburgh show: The Segue Sisters in... Jailbirds.
