2011 Edinburgh Fringe
The Ice Fishing Play
Milaca High School presents the storytelling of Kevin Kling. With his understated humour about Minnesota winters and the people who relish in them, Kling puts the audience in the middle of a frozen Minnesota lake with Ron who sits in his icehouse, baits his hook and waits, quiet and alone, to catch the 'Big One'. His day of fishing is overrun by his wife, his brother, the goofy bait-shop owner, and others bringing memories from his past. Even missionaries arrive to warn him. The grand climax is at hand. A play about life, love and loneliness.
