UK time travellers, Morgan & West, successfully fooled Vegas magic legends Penn & Teller on the ITV1 prime time show Penn & Teller: Fool Us in advance of launching their new show Morgan & West: Crime Solving Magicians, at the Edinburgh fringe.

Morgan & West are a duo of Victorian parlour magicians who practise magic in the 21st Century thanks to having their own time machine. They have been working together since 2007 when they developed their unique brand of magic based on strong haracterisation, original tricks and magnificent moustaches.

Penn & Teller: Fool Us challenges UK magicians to try and outwit one of the world's most respected acts. Morgan & West wrote a new trick specifically for the show using silhouettes of their historical friends, a devilish feat of memory and Mr Morgan's secret skill.

Rob West has said "We knew the trick could fool them, but we didn't believe that we would fool them. We went in there to give it our best shot and, thankfully, nailed them."

It's still taking a while for it to sink in "If we're honest we still don't quite believe it now." says Rhys Morgan "The moment where Penn says 'you fooled us' passes by a little quickly and we almost had to double check. All the mental preparation backstage goes into gracefully accepting defeat and little thought is given to what happens if you fool them. I think we just grinned like idiots."

Their success means that the dashing duo will now be taking a trip to America to perform on the stage of the Rio, Penn & Teller's Las Vegas home.

"It probably won't sink in until we've landed in Vegas. It's so far removed from anywhere we've been before and that doesn't help bring it home." Rob West commented, with Rhys Morgan adding "You could imagine performing in a theatre in London, but in the Rio in Vegas? Bonkers."

However, before they can start packing for Las Vegas, they have the rather pressing issue of solving their own murders. This Edinburgh fringe they will be hunting for their killer and preventing their own demise in their new show Morgan & West: Crime Solving Magicians.
