2011 Edinburgh Fringe
Mary Mary Quite Contrary
Irish comic Mary Bourke presents a caustic, contrary look at the world of pop culture. 'Catch her before she becomes a cult' (Guardian), 'One of the best female acts in the country' (GQ), 'Mary Bourke is a high status comedienne who avoids all the usual clichés of body dysmorphia, self-loathing and cake. She is in an intelligent witty league of her own' (Irish World).

This woman makes me laugh - lots.
Her show is expanded up from the appearance on last year's "Best of Irish" 3 hander, and now it is a full length solo show, with no loss of pace - consistent laughs throughout, and a fair bit of it makes you think about the silly things you do without embarrassment (like why do so many people like those Dan Browne books? When you hear them read out with all the gravitas of an outtake from a 1950s Lassie movie, you would start to wonder).
She's pretty contrary too.
