Kerry Godliman - Wonder Woman
The comedy wonder of Godliman has been in hot demand. Star of Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, BBC Two's Home Time and support for Micky Flanagan on tour. Now she's back at the Fringe with feelings to express. Not all her feelings obviously, just the funny ones. Strap in for a riot of hilarious stories from the coalface of coping. 'A great comic who oozes personality' (Evening Standard). 'Naturally funny, just look at her face' (Miranda Hart). 'She has you with her every syllable' (Scotsman). 'Her material always gets the best response' (Chortle).

Wonder Woman doesn't have kids, does she?
Comedienne, mother, and TV personality Kerry Godliman has a busy life at the best of times. Come the Fringe however, her life spins up a notch, as she reveals here.
Edinburgh Evening News, 15th August 2011Interview: Kerry Godliman, comedian
Sometimes, when Kerry Godliman arrives for a stand-up gig, she encounters puzzled looks. "People are like, 'Didn't you have a kid?' And I go, 'Oooooh! A kid! Where did I leave the kid? Is it in my bag? Where do you think the kid is?' It's this weird oversight that presumes I am the one who should be permanently at home with that kid."

The comedy wonder of Godliman has been in hot demand this year (Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, Home Time and supporting Micky Flanagan on tour). Now she's back at the Fringe with feelings to express in her brand new show: Kerry Godliman - Wonder Woman. Not all her feelings obviously, just the funny ones.
Kerry's busy. Like everyone these days she's trying to have it all. Career, kids, health, relationships, home and all the other stuff. Even thinking about her 'To Do' list makes her want to buckle to a foetal position and rock herself to sleep. She doesn't even know where she put her 'To Do' list. One of the kids probably ate it. How did she end up feeling like her head is falling off?
She was raised in the 70s. She was raised to wear non objectifying dungarees. Benny Hill and Carry On films were banned in her house. She was allowed to watch Wonder Woman (and Metal Mickey, but she couldn't build a show around that). Wonder Woman, despite the objectifying clobber, was a role model. She was strong, she took no shit from anyone. She was clever. She had a vocation... 'When I grow up I'm going to be a Wonder Woman'. Cut to 2011. Kerry's maniacal lifestyle requires inspection, in the form of a comedy show...
It's hard to believe that this is only Kerry's second solo Fringe show, as she's been a regular, in-demand face on the comedy circuit since 2004. Kerry made her first Fringe appearance in 2004 alongside Ava Vidal and Roisin Conaty in the triple-billed Bling Blush Bonk and in 2006 she worked with David Lane for two-hander Godliman and Lane. Her debut solo Fringe show was This Is Not What I Was Expecting in 2008, a look at life's disappointments in Kerry's affable, accessible and straight-talking way.
As well as being a stand-out stand-up, Kerry is also a consummate actress and her many TV appearances include comedy shows Spoons, Rush Hour, Extras, Home Time and Miranda, as well as appearing as herself on Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow and Comedy Central At The Comedy Store. Outside of comedy, Kerry is a familiar face from the current BBC series Silk (with Maxine Peak and Rupert Penry-Jones) and her previous acting work includes Poppy Shakespeare, The Quatermass Experiment and The Bill.
