Juliet is passionate about big things (evil b*st*rds) and little things (disappointing magicians). She can stand up and be funny, but can she stand up and be counted like Spartacus and friends? (No knowledge of the film or gladiators required!) Expect moments of silliness, audience voting and petty rebellion. There are even stories about reluctantly hosting a strip club and trying to save the world but accidentally breaking it. 'Exceptionally funny' (Independent), 'Devilish on the edge' (Scotsman), 'An amazing talent' (BBC 5 Live), 'Wonderfully bizarre ideas... laugh-out-loud funny' (Chortle.co.uk).

To what lengths are we prepared to go to be decent human beings and what happens when we get it wrong? Juliet can stand up and be funny, but can she stand up and be counted like Spartacus and friends? Juliet Meyers is passionate about big things (evil bastards) and little things (disappointing magicians). Expect silliness, audience voting, petty rebellion and stories of trying to save the world but accidentally breaking it. And there's a bit about Spartacus too... for the geeks!

Should you buy Big Issue if the seller makes obscene suggestions?

What is the effective way to protest and is it worth bothering?

What's the difference between heroic and foolhardy?

Would Juliet give her life for someone else?

Why did she secretly hope her dad might get tazered at San Francisco airport?

Established comedian Juliet Meyers has a chatty style that has made her much in demand as a comedian and MC. She has performed extensively in Europe and parts of the USA. She has been bringing her own brand of cerebral, quirky, sometimes profound, occasionally profane, sometimes edgy gag-driven comedy to the stage for nearly 10 years. Radio credits include guest spots chatting about current affairs on LBC and BBC Berkshire. Writing credits include 8 Out Of 10 Cats and The News Quiz.

I really enjoyed this.

(Disclosure: I got to be selected to play the part of handsome but hetero slave boy Antoninus in Juliet's reenactment of a deleted scene from Spartacus. Since the original part was played by the young Tony Curtis, this was quite flattering. Tony Curtis was in The Persuaders which was a big feature of my 70s childhood)

A range of topics and ideas covered with no loss of momentum either in giggles or hang-on-a-minute thoughts.

Why don't we stand up for things we think are right, what do we think about those that do? Why IS her hair like that?

Smallish venue, so you're never that far from the action, any audience participation is very positive, no ridiculing of the audience at all - and not everyone can be Antoninus, so if you can't be an Antoninus, perhaps you can be Marcus Crassus (who was played by Lawrence Olivier, so you get the thespian high ground). Or perhaps you can be Spartacus too, because Juliet isn't.
