Jimeoin - Lovely!
Stunning show of world-class stand-up from one of live comedy's masters. No gimmicks, pure and simple great craic from star of Jason Manford's Comedy Rocks and Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow. 'Hilarious. It gets no better than this. He's not trying to preach to you, he won't change your life but he will make you laugh a lot, brilliant' (Time Out), 'Comedy of the highest order, inspired ramblings' (Independent), 'Sublime. A master class in delivery' (Chortle.co.uk), 'Jimeoin recalls the familiar at a fantastically silly level, boiling his audience down to a tear-filled, gibbering mess' (Scotland on Sunday). Video: Jimeoin reveals the Irish roots behind new show
Northern Irish comedian speaks to STV about his supernatural ability to spot people with bad backs and why his spouse hasn't seen his new Fringe show.
STV, 18th August 2011More details
Jimeoin, the world's favourite laid-back Irishman from the land of Oz, returns to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this year with his latest show, packed to the gills with unadulterated, world-class stand-up.
Jimeoin is loved by audiences throughout the world for his brilliant wit and his razor-sharp take on the absurdities of everyday life, and has even beaten the world's scientists to the finish line by introducing the concept of the Speed of Cheese - the more useful and alternative measurement to the Speed of Light - into modern day vocabulary.
This is a show that is purely and simply about having a good time and a good old-fashioned laugh.
Having left his native Northern Irish town of Portstewart and settling in Australia over a decade ago, Jimeoin's disarmingly relaxed, cheeky and sometimes surreal sense of humour has led to him performing sell-out tours to record-breaking audiences across the length and breadth of his adopted homeland. He has released several top-selling CD'S and DVD's and has also built up a strong international following.
Recently he has appeared on Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, Jason Manford's Comedy Rocks, Best Of Just For Laughs and Best of Edinburgh Comedy Festival on TV and is set to make even more appearances on our screens this year.
