The Return of O'Farahan and Keith
One big apple, two Yorkshire cops and an all-star cast... welcome to The Return of O'Farahan and Keith.
The brainchild of Jon Reed and Kevin Dawson, the show features the voices of Johnny Vegas, Jo Caulfield, Pat Monahan, Pappy's, Pete Firman and more, writes Lucy Wood.
And not only that, it is award-winning stand-up Reed's return to the Fringe after a decade. Perrier nominee and Hackney Empire New Act of the Year, Reed was at the forefront of multimedia comedy, when a new wave of British performers - bred on Spike Milligan, Python and Vic & Bob - were finding their feet.
"Ten years on, we're left with Mock The Week, stadium tours and DVD deals dictated by the supermarkets," said Reed. "Whatever happened to imagination, left of centre, and creativity? That's why I've returned to the Fringe."
The Return of O'Farahan and Keith - based on Starsky and Hutch as you've never seen them before - is a mix of multimedia and live work. Previously commissioned for a non-broadcast pilot by BBC Scotland, Reed says the show will divide audiences and critics.
"Compromised it is not," he adds. "Beautiful, charming and challenging it is."
The Return of O'Farahan and Keith is on at The Hive (Venue 312) at 3:45pm. Listing[/i]
