The 2 Sides of Eddie Ramone
World premiere of Chris Sullivan's new play The 2 Sides of Eddie Ramone brings Chris to Edinburgh for the third time, but this time it's totally different. He has always been fascinated by the life of comedians and the difference between their on and off stage lives, he's seen many a comedian sitting in the corners of bars talking to nobody. The 2 Sides of Eddie Ramone explores the dichotomy of the comedian. Chris has over 100 appearances on British television and feature films, including Lifeforce, White Angel, The Bill, Martin Chuzzlewit and Crossroads.

Eddie Ramone: ex-games show host, fading comic, cruise ship entertainer. Chris Sullivan's new play, The 2 Sides of Eddie Ramone; which previewed at the Edinburgh Festival last night; is a bitter sweet insight into the mind of a has-been comic. Chris, who plays Eddie in this solo performance, sensitively captures the ramblings and thoughts of Eddie as he battles with himself during one of his routine stand up performances. The show is cleverly edited where we first meet Eddie performing his tired, outdated jokes before he suddenly finds himself on autopilot, looking down at himself regurgitating the same old routine. The thought process that then follows leads the audience into a captivating dark story of the real Eddie. We are taken deep into the mind of this tragic character and his life, interjected with the false smile and jokes of the stand up performance. Brilliantly handled and emotionally performed, Chris shows just how superficial and lonely the life of a comedian can be and leaves us asking the question, who is the real Eddie Ramone?
