Truly original, hilarious and touching all at once. Probably a reflection of the warped characters this chameleon-like performer transforms into. Originally set in 1980s New York, Eric Bogosian's Drinking in America is a funny yet disturbing look at the repressed elements of the human psyche. Dudgeon reimagines the text to include odd balls from ol' Blighty to the Texan porn addict who are joined by a cockney pick up artist and a cider-addled cow tipper. This piece is brought to the stage with clarity and an engaging honesty that both amuses and touches.
