Romance with a Double Bass
UWE Drama Society and G.I.T.S are bringing two new adaptations of outstanding comedy classics to the Fringe. Closing the final week of the festival, Romance With A Double Bass is an adaptation of Chekhov's short story about the blossoming love between unfortunate musician Smychkov and a dejected princess. The pair separately escapes the hectic organisation of the princess's engagement party for a spot of skinny-dipping, only to have their clothes stolen. They must hurriedly return to the festivities, with only a top-hat and capacious double bass case to hide their... instruments. Barenaked laughs aplenty.
