2011 Edinburgh Fringe
Be My Baby
It's 1964 and Mary Adams is 19, unmarried and 'up the duff'. Sent to a mother and baby home by a mother intent on keeping up appearances, she has to live out her pregnancy in secrecy and shame. However, teenage effervescence keeps breaking through as she and the other inmates sing along to the classic girl-group songs of the period. 'If this play was a person you'd want to hold it and hug it' (Guardian) ...'You don't have to be young, female or unmarried to find this play intensely moving' (Times ).
