Ava Vidal: The Hardest Word
At last year's Edinburgh show Ava Vidal (Michael McIntyre's Roadshow, Comedy Central, Radio 4 News Quiz) had an argument that left her feeling guilty but could not bring herself to apologise. In The Hardest Word Ava Vidal looks at how apologies are used these days in the world of celebrity and politics. She looks at those who have apologised and those who have steadfastly refused. She takes a trip that covers four continents and looks at worldwide attitudes to find out if sorry really is the hardest word.

More details
Ava Vidal is a lady who certainly does it 'her way' and is unapologetic about it. In her brand new hour long show going into The Stand for the month of August The Hardest Word Ava examines the use of apologies in the context of politic and celebrities and wonders what is exactly the point?
One of the stand out stars of Michael Mcintyre's Comedy Roadshow, Ava Vidal is a cool and composed performer with an intriguing past. She was a teenage mum; she earned a living as a prison officer before turning to stand-up, a move inspired by watching Chris Rock.
Ava has moved quickly through comedy's ranks. The only female finalist in the BBC3 New Comedy Awards in the very first year of her career, she already has a clutch of TV appearances to her name, including the BBC's Mock the Week, Michael Mcintyre's Comedy Roadshow, Channel 4's Best of Brighton Festival, Comedy Central's The World Stands Up, Edinburgh and Beyond and was a housemate on C4 reality show Kings of Comedy.
She has also been involved in other BBC shows including The Last Laugh, BBC2's The Sack Race and the short lived sitcom on BBC1 The Crouches. Channel 4 made a documentary about her called From the Top, a half-hour show explaining her journey in comedy so far, and how she became a comedienne. She has also appeared on many radio shows - Eddie Izzard's Reluctant Cabaret on Radio 2, The News Quiz and has presented her own show on Radio 4 called My Politician is Funnier Than Yours on Radio 4.
