Justin Moorhouse review
It's not a nice comparison to make, but it has to be done. If you like Peter Kay, go and see Justin Moorhouse. If not, then go at your own risk. Whilst he has some funny one liners, most of the material in this show feels dated, or too easy.
There are myriad jokes about being overweight, the difference between men and women, budget airlines and Disneyland being a corporate whore. The thing is, whilst they might raise a bit of a giggle, they've been done before, and even before that. There's an overwhelming feeling of familiarity throughout the whole show, which is fine if your audience like that sort of thing, but not enough to make you stand out from countless other comics in the same venue.
Moorhouse is a talented performer, and has a nice way of expressing himself, It's just that his material is trite. Tired subject matter that, for anyone who wants something to really laugh about or to be surprised, isn't going to cut it. He isn't going to offend anyone with this set, so if you're looking for somewhere to take the family, see this. Otherwise, I'd consider looking elsewhere - you'll have a couple of laughs, but it's all too reminiscent of another bloke from Bolton...
