Mark Allen's Go Slow
Have you ever found yourself swearing at dawdling strangers? Or having futile tantrums at non-moving transport? Is the relentless pace of modern life making you strop and huff like a petulant child? Me too. That's why I staged a one-person 'Go Slow' for an entire month. I used stairs instead of lifts, wrote letters instead of emails and took two bottles into the shower. By removing my obsession with timesaving did I become less of a time-addled stress-bag? Or did I just feel ostracised from society and go a bit mental? 'A total delight' (Time Out).

Have you ever found yourself swearing at dawdling strangers? Or having futile tantrums at non-moving transport? Is the relentless pace of modern life making you strop and huff like a petulant child?
Mark Allen's Go Slow - part of the Five Pound Fringe - may be about to offer up an alternative way of living. For an entire month the comic decided to do everything more slowly. He used stairs instead of lifts, wrote letters instead of emails and even took two bottles into the shower. But did removing his obsession with saving time make him a better person? Or did it just make him feel ostracised from society and go a bit mental? All will be revealed in this critically acclaimed one-man show.
Mark Allen is an established Edinburgh Fringe comedian and comedy writer, with credits including E4, BBC Four and ITV. He regularly appears as a pundit on BBC Radio Five Live and Sky News Review, and this is Mark's fourth solo show at the world's largest arts festival.
Previous shows including Mark Allen's Pet Project and Quite Good Britain have earned widespread critical acclaim, whilst Mark Allen's Go Slow received an entirely positive response when previewed in June at the Hollywood Fringe Festival.
So, if you find yourself rushing more than relaxing and wonder what life would be like without its stresses, get down to The GRV and, for the bargain price of £5, find out whether the grass really is greener - and more relaxed - on the other side.
N.B. In the spirit of going slow, Mark Allen's Go Slow will run for an hour and a half rather than the usual hour. Feel free to bring a flask of tea - Mark will provide the biscuits.
