Paul MacInnes, The Guardian, 18th August 2010Edinburgh Fringe grilling: Late Night Gimp Fight
Next to take a running jump onto our sporty sofa of truth is five-man sketch group Late Night Gimp Fight ("Nothing short of genius" - Three Weeks), who this month take their show to the Pleasance Courtyard...
Jonny Abrams, Sport.co.uk, 6th August 2010More details
Last year's underground hit of the fringe and most talked about new sketch group is back for a second year of irreverent, naughty and downright hilarious sketches in what promises to be another excellent, fast paced hour from this exciting five man group.
Directed by Steve Marmion, Artistic Director of Soho Theatre, this hugely talented bunch combines songs, dance, sketch and the occasional gimp (of course) and massive dollops of really original off the wall creativity to create a battery of brilliant sketches that will leave you violated, but in a good way. Critical acclaim last year and a sell out run firmly established them as audience favourites.
Late Night Gimp Fight formed in 2008 and performs hotly anticipated new hour long shows in London every month. Late Night Gimp Fight members are David Moon, Lee Griffiths, Matt Ralph, Paul Biggin and Richard Campbell.
This year they also enjoyed a successful outing to the Brighton Fringe and recently performed with Tim Key, Carl Donnelly, Bridget Christie and Cardinal Burns.
Lee trained at East 15 Acting School alongside Matt Ralph and Paul Biggin and has been seen in The Donmar Warehouse's production of Madam De Sade and was in Beyond the Rave - the first hammer Horror finlm in almost 30 years.
Before joining East 15, Matt had excelled in many forms of dance winning national competitions and set up a theatre company specializing in physical theatre and clowning.
Paul was the first student of East 15's history to receive the Carleton Hobbs Bursary Award winning a five month contract with the BBC Radio Drama Repertory Company where he appeared in over fifty productions.
David Moon studied at Drama Studio and since graduation has worked extensively in Theatre and Film including The Big Filling at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2007 and the movie Aimless (Two Bells Productions) in which he was the lead.
Richard Campbell studied Law at Bristol and was called to the Bar in 2007. He is no stranger to the fringe having performed in Finger in the Pie's Cenerentola and Sweeny Todd.
Steve Marmion recently directed the Christmas show for the Lyric Hammersmith and previous credits include Macbeth for Regent's Park Theatre, seasons with the RSC, where he held the post of Associate Director and he has worked at The National Theatre, The Royal Court, Theatre Royals Plymouth and Bath and the Sherman Theatre in Cardiff.
