Grainne Maguire: We Need To Talk About Bonnets
Is living life like you're in an Emily Bronte novel always a bad thing? Even if you're a bit of a pisshead and don't own a bonnet. Gráinne (finalist in Hackney Empire, Funny Women, Laughing Horse and Leicester 'new act') genuinely thought life would be more exciting; but she's, as yet, never been trapped in an attic, worked as a governess or contracted TB. Now she's angry, pretty flipping angry. Join her as she poses that eternal question 'What would Jane Eyre do?' 'Extremely Funny' (Times). **** (List)

More details
Is living your life, like you're in an Emily Bronte novel always a bad thing? Even if you are in your late twenties, live in London and don't own a bonnet.
Drama, passion, the odd wife locked in an attic, Gráinne really thought life would be more like that and is now slowly realising that isn't the case... and she's angry, very angry. Modern life is as mediocre as hell and she isn't going to take it anymore.
Join Gráinne as she argues that we could all do with a bit more excitement 19th century style in these glum, credit crunch days. Sure there was a bit of slavery, no women's rights and the odd bit of cholera but whatever- talk to the glove 'cause the bonnet isn't listening...'
Why not write a love letter, discover you have a mortal enemy, inherit money in a dubious manner, isn't that much more fun than bloody Twitter?
Watch as she tries to find a third way between the forced marriages to save the family home and getting fingered in nightclubs. Hear her debate whether a lifelong obsession with all things Austen and Bronte, is a help or is she just building herself for inevitable disappointment?
Gráinne will tackle all these conundrums asking what she always asks in times of difficulty- what would Jane Eyre do?
